patchwork pillow

Last year with a group of friendly Polish girls (strangely there was no enthusiastic Polish boys), most of them knowing each other only from their blogs, we took an initiative to make every month one simple craft project. This were supposed to be not extremely challenging tasks based on web-tutorials. Subject were proposed every month by one of us and sometimes also voted democratically.

Some of the girls fulfilled every task, the rest made it almost to the end, or with some short breaks and very often with amazing outcomes, with a creativity going beyond any web-tutorial.

That was a pleasure to participate in this project named 12/12, to have some discipline and motivation and of course to share every month with what we make.

No wonder that also this year we wanted to be part of it. There are so many things in the craft-world waiting to be made...

This year we are even better organized, we have a plans (subjects) for the whole coming year.

The thema of January was a "pillow".
I made mine using very nice tutorial, in one Saturday evening, without any conflict with my sawing machine.
It has two patchwork sides and whatever some people say I didn't meant to get a swastika-effect;)

The nice thing about my new pillow is that it has very energizing colors and it gives interesting accent to our rather subtly colored living room.

And I really use it! I cannot say it about many things I made so far;).
I hope one day I will finally make a patchwork bedcover I'm so dreaming about...

I'm not a very dedicated blogger. I admit that I often start making something with a lot of enthusiasm and after a while I loose this beginner attitude, finding more interesting things to do in non-virtual everyday life. But from time to time I like to play with form, with doing something creative, including for example crafting and writing. So every year I begin new things and I'm not anymore annoyed by the fact of not finishing them. As long as I can have some fun...
So no promises for this blog, one of the millions on web, it can maybe become something, maybe it can stay around as virtual trash. Let's wait and see...
